This blog will capture experiences as I discover another side of the world. Life beneath the waves has always been a mystery to me and I never considered how much of a life changer scuba diving would be; being alone, but with your buddy, sharing an experience that is personal, going from the top of the food chain to the bottom in an environment that in on your doorstep but so foreign. Scuba diving grounds you and at the same time opens up a world so different and exciting that to experience it is cathartic, food for the soul, a time to clear the mind and enjoy the world from a different point of view.

I am currently undergoing candidacy for Dive Master with Remote Area Dive in Townsville with a number of other like-minded people. For the next few months, I will spend a considerable amount of time beneath the surface assisting instructors to pass on knowledge and share the gift of scuba to others including members of my direct family. My fondness for diving has been encouraged at every step by the fantastic crew and instructors at RAD. Fabs, Bickie, Fairs, Mustard (hope you come back soon mate), Lucky and Bunny to name a few - your enthusiasm is infectious and a driving force that is keeping me sane at the moment!

As part of my Degree, I also have the opportunity to dive with Southern Cross University in Coffs Harbour as I study Scientific Diving in Oct - I'm really looking forward to this line of study and seeing what/ how the world does its thing under water.
